- Dentin hypersensitivity is called as dental pain
- It is of short duration
- Arise when enamel wares down exposing dentin
- Exposed dentin response to stimuli like hot or cold or sweet or acidic food, drinks, breathing cold air

- These stimuli makes teeth sensitive or painful
- Change in fluid flow causes pressure changes within the dentin
- Change fluid flow will activate dental nerve
